Kelp Salt

The table salt we buy in stores has iodine added to it. Iodine is necessary for the thyroid gland to do it's functions in the body like regulating metabolism, blood calcium levels, energy, healthy body weight and more.

Kelp is a natural source of iodine and is chalk full of minerals (also essential to the body).

Make your own Natural Iodized Salt: Kelp Salt!
Take organic sea salt (it is more grey in color because it is less processed, plus table salt has a chemical in it to make it white) mix it with either kelp powder or grind up strips of kelp in a coffee grinder. You can find kelp in the health food stores. In BC it grows wild in the ocean, so it's quite plentiful and so good for you.

Careful not to mix up the salt with the pepper when spicing your dishes...That's already happened once with me! Hehehe :)

Happy spicing, healthy spicing,
Pam
